Tom D. teaches race basics, pt 2
The date of the outdoor easy-but-talky ride about tactics will occur on Sunday the 31st of January.  I think we will plan on arriving to the speed-bump around 9 or so and we will go ride and give examples of different situations and talk about what may have happened at the training crit the day before (which all of you should think about doing).  Sometimes it is better to see how a situation might actually look on the road to understand it.  The pace will be slow, and we will simulate a race only inasmuch as creating artificial situations.  we may get ice cream or coffee.

The date of the indoor classroom-style me-tellin’-you-stuff strategy session about bicycle racing tactics will be Wednesday the 27th of January at 8:30pm in Wilson 020.  I will go over some basic tenets of racing and some tactical things that everybody should know.  I am not lying that if you do the things that I tell you, you and the team will place better in races.  I can guarantee that many of the things are generally not done, mis-followed, or ignored.  You will not get it all at once.  BUT, coming to this meeting will give you at least a base-level sense of what you are meant to be doing in a race.  It is the experience of implementing the things in actual races that will help you after you ‘know’ everything.
